What we did...There
was an existing gardener's toilet in one corner of an open garage. The
toilet was under the stairs going to a second floor storage room and had
four walls of bead board. The toilet had not been used in years. We found that once
we cleared the waste line it worked and there was water to the toilet. The issue was trying to get a permit to install a bathroom in a garage in Oakland.

It took two inspector's visits to verify that a working existing aged toilet was in the garage for us to get the go ahead to expand the space.
We then added a wall between the bath and garage. We put in a door to the bath,
then installed the shower, sink and new toilet. We finished it off with wall
treatment, lighting and flooring and this is what we got.
